My buddy got some stitches
« on: July 30, 2010, 12:36:12 AM »

My oldest lab grabbed ahold of his ear when they were feeding and I figure Gauge pulled back. 15 stitches total. Its a good thing my friends mom is a vet and thankfully she was available as we got him down and stitched up fairly quick.

He was still sedated when i brought him home

It took about 30 minutes before he started to come around

Before he could even walk straight he was wanting to retrieve

The next day he was ready to play but it must have had him in some pain because he was pretty careful of that ear hitting things

Today he was ready to be my pal again. I wouldnt let him outside to try and keep the gnats and flys off his wound.

He'll forget all about that and never even know it happened before too long.

Good to hear he's doing ok. I've seen my old 12-yr-old lab mix get some pretty nasty cuts and scrapes, and I'm always amazed at how quickly they heal! I wish I was that way. Grin
